I have a folder in Capo for each band. Sometimes we play the same songs in multiple bands resulting in the same song in multiple folders. Would be nice to have a option to link these all together so that a change in one updates all the other copies. Bit of an outlier use-case though so not really expecting this to be done.
If this is on a Mac, why not just do that in the Finder? Choose whichever version you want to be the one, and create an alias to that in the other folders.
If you really want to geek out about it, look up how to create a link in Terminal. But I would think an alias would be enough.
OTOH, file management on iOS isn’t quite as powerful, at least not yet, so if that’s where you’re using Capo, you might be stuck.
Yup, iOS user here. So I guess it’s not possible. Didn’t think it would be something that would be a priority to support. And it may not be possible given Apple owns the file system.
I would be surprised if either of these would carry over correctly on iCloud to your iOS devices. There are subtle details when you link files on your Mac that become very difficult to resolve once they leave the machine.
For example, I think that the Mac keeps the aliases valid when you move the original file—even across volumes! Once you add synchronization with another machine into the mix, these sorts of things become difficult/impossible to track.
This is an interesting problem/feature to think about, though!
