Low notes underrepresented

Hello,
I have noticed over a lot of songs I have had a look at that very low notes are often very pale or don’t show up at all, despite full intensity set and the frequency clearly being played on for example audacity FFT. This is especially an issue in case of alternative tunings where the notes can go even lower, and capo often just provides 0 information on these notes sounding or makes them seem way too quiet.

Could you send me a song that demonstrates low energy in the low frequency range to support@supermegaultragroovy.com? There are a few things that can contribute to this, but I’ll have to see specific examples to be certain.

One possible issue is tuning-related, and the spectrogram is calculated with the assumption that the song is tuned to A440. This presents less of an issue at higher frequencies, but at lower frequencies you might see a lot more smearing/faintness when the “bins” aren’t well aligned. (This also causes an issue with chord recognition, but I made sure to tune the model so that it copes with a reasonable degree of drift.)

Anyway, I’m looking forward to your message in support. Thanks for writing in!
