Request: Add more powerful instrument isolation control and categorizing in the spectrogram

Long time, generally happy Capo user.

Just started using an evaluation copy of RipX software, an audio editing tool. I really like how RipX uses the filtering on their spectrogram. They have the main spectrogram and then they have ui-tabs you can click that filter the master spectrogram into potential instruments, bass, guitar, kick, … . If RipX miss classifies an instrument in one of the filters you can tell it the correct filter to use. You can turn on/off the filters on play back to isolate instruments on play back.

It would be great enhancement if Capo could add those type of RipX spectrogram filtering capabilities. I think it would be a big improvement over the isolation tool. I am just talking about the spectrogram not all the audio editing capabilities in RipX. I would recommend the Capo team download the 20 Day eval for future ideas for the spectrogram.

Here’s a good short video: Rip X by Hit n Mix: the best quality audio source separation out there! - YouTube

Pretty neat stuff! It’s definitely much closer to what I’d like to offer in Capo, but the tricky part will be tailoring it to this specific use case.

(OK, maybe the real trick will be to figure out how to build $200/seat software tech into $40/seat software that’s barely covering our costs… But when has that ever stopped me before?)

lol, nice to see some interest.
It does some amazing audio editing, almost like editing midi and amazing effects
Also, that $200 is a one time fee, not an annual subscription… yet
