'Delete selected note' greyed out even after upgrading to paid sub

Hi, new user here. Just upgraded to a paid subscription because I need to delete a chord (I corrected the chord it detected and now I basically have two duplicate chords next to each other). When I go to ‘delete selected note’ it is greyed out. I quit the software and restarted it to ensure it picked up that I’m subscribed, and that didn’t change anything. Did I find a bug? I’m on Mac OS Tahoe 26.1.

Hi, and welcome!

To delete a chord, press the ‘delete’ key on the keyboard after you select it.

You haven’t found a bug in the code per-se. The menu item you’re referring to is specifically intended for removing the selected note in the Tabbing song view. If you’re not in the Tabbing song view and don’t have a note selected, then that menu item won’t be enabled.

With that said, you definitely uncovered a bug in the UI that I’ll need to figure out. Specifically, I need to be better about my organization of the main menu and maintaining a 1:1 correspondence between the menu and items that are accessible in the toolbar.

Another way you can delete the chord with your mouse is using the Chords toolbar item, which you can find in the palette when you right-click on the toolbar and choose Customize. In there, you’ll notice that the “add chord” button changes to a “delete chord” button when you make a selection.

Hope this helps!
